Here I am by a nice fountain. It was cool sitting there.

Seemed like we weren't there very long and it was time to head home.

Ooooh no, Mom didn't forget. She started talking about apple trees again. Mom grew up in apple country in the Hudson Valley. She said she loves apple trees because in the spring they are beautiful with their light pink blossoms. Then in the fall, when they are heavy with red apples, they are impressive.
Then Mom said apple trees are great for climbing. Even littler kids can climb them easily and even use them like a jungle gym.
*groan* How can anyone get so enthused about a tree. I figured with the traffic maybe we wouldn't find a place to stop.
Uh oh, Mom found a farm stand with an apple tree close by. We pulled in. I knew I was going to feel pretty dumb getting acquainted with a tree but Mom dragged me over.
Hey! Look! There are apples on this tree. I knew apples came from trees but I guess I never really thought about it. Here they are in July, growing already. They won't be ready to eat til fall. Cool!

The man said it was OK for me to climb the tree if I wanted.
Wow! This is a great climbing tree!!

Wooo Hoooo!! I can hang by my knees from a tree!! Just like Mom did as a kid.

Wow! APPLE TREES ARE COOL!!!!
This was a great trip!
