Some Christmas Fun

Our next adventure was a real treat for me. Mom took me to the casino to see Dolly Parton! I mean the real Dolly, in person, on stage!! You have to be 18 to go in many parts of the casino, so Mom told me to be really quiet and not to move a muscle. I had to pretend to be an ordinary stuffed animal. Mom figured people would think she was a bit nutsy, but at least I wouldn't get thrown out. I did just as I was told because I really wanted to see Dolly. I heard so much about her when we went to Pigeon Forge. Dolly grew up right near the town we stayed in.
Mom was really impressed with how good Dolly sounds. She is super. That isn't always the case when a star gets older. But Dolly still has it all.
We weren't supposed to take pictures but Mom figured it was because the flash bothers people, so she turned off the flash and sneaked a couple of shots for us to keep as souvenirs.

Wow,look at that figure! I mean, Dolly is almost as old as Mom!

Our next outting was to Beck's Grove for a luncheon and Christmas music show.
Here I am waiting to go in.

When we got inside, I was amazed at how many people were there. I should have guessed tho, since there were 3 buses outside.

I sat and waited patiently for luncheon. I was on my very best behavior because these were people Mom had worked with, and I wanted Mom to be proud of me.

These are some of Mom's friends: left to right: Maureen, Darice, Lynette and Carol.

During intermission, we tried to go to the gift shop, but it was full of people so we just hung around for a while.

To tell the truth, we thought the first part of the show was silly. The second part got a whole lot better though.
This is cast of the show.
